Apr 19, 2016 – Josy was born with spinal muscular atrophy, a degenerative disease that has paralyzed most part of her body, except for certain facial muscles and two fingers of her right hand. Despite difficulties, she manages to thrive at the University of Hong Kong, pursuing her dream of being a poet.

She tells me that, the most frustrating reaction she receives from people is not the refusal, but the overreacted curiosity and exaggerated kindness. The people with disabilities should be firstly recognized as human beings, who also have their own dignity, pursuits and specialties.
